Little Ways To Show Your Partner Love This Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day 2026

Valentine’s Day: a day for the cynical to rolls their eyes at and for the newly in love to relish in. If you’re somewhere in between this Valentine’s Day, what can you do to show your partner you care? After all, it’s just a day celebration of love, right?

Five little ways to show your partner some love this Valentine’s Day

Show them you care in their love language

We may not have the same love language as our partner, so it’s really important to remember to show them you care in a way that they really feel it. Whether it be acts of service (doing a task for them that they don’t like doing, or making them a nice meal), or words of affirmation (writing a nice card with plenty of kind and thoughtful words), if you can cater the small act of love to their preferences, they’ll greatly appreciate it.

Get them a card or small thoughtful gift

A simple gesture that can mean a lot when you lead busy lives! It’s easy to forget how often the smallest things can mean the most. This one comes under words of affirmation or receiving thoughtful gifts in terms of love language, but most people would love to receive either!

Wake them up with a cup of tea or coffee and breakfast

An acts of service gesture, this is a really meaningful way of showing you care, with their favourite beverage or morning food item: sometimes one partner will always do this, maybe switch it up and surprise them by returning the favour!

Have a takeaway or dine in meal for two

Easy but effective, if you don’t want to sit in a restaurant surrounded by roses and loved up couples, a favourite takeaway or dine in meal can be just the ticket to showing your partner you care with some quality time together. Bonus points for making it a surprise!

Remind them of something you love about them

It’s so easy to forget to tell our partners how we feel about them, especially when we’re in long term relationships. A quick compliment, thank you for something they’ve done recently or just a sign of affection can go a long way. Especially if it reminds you both of a special moment in your shared history or something that you may not have said recently.

It doesn’t have to be a big grand gesture, but reminding our loved ones that we care is a great way to maintaining a healthy relationship and avoiding complacency!

Hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day this year ❤️
